thankful.

This time of year always gives me a chance to really think of all the things I have to be thankful for. The last couple days we have had our power out from weather, but I still have much to be thankful for!! We were told not to expect power till Friday, but we are so blessed to have it on now!! Oh, I'm so glad that we have lots of warmth before Thanksgiving.

With having lots of time on my hands to sit by the fireplace, I was able to get lots of hand stitching done, and got a little closer to having the double wedding ring pillow done. I only have one more section. Yeah!!

I also was able to read some fun Thanksgiving books with my kiddos, and enjoyed reading a couple FABULOUS new books of mine, Scandinavian Stitches, and Fa La La La Felt!! I can't wait to get started on some of the fantastic projects in each book!!

And of course, enjoyed watching the kiddos play in the snow, and look at the beautiful scenery. With not having any snow last year we were excited to have some so early!!

To all my sweet US friends, I hope you have a wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving!!

a start...

...on the pillow talk swap, is what i've been up to this week! i pulled out my beloved flea market fancy as my partner loves cheery fabrics and fmf sure makes me happy and cheery. :) i picked the double wedding ring and have been working on the english paper piecing here and there when i get a moment. though, i'm thinking of trying the traditional paper piecing, wondering if that might be a bit faster?? any thoughts?

what do you think partner, do you like the direction i'm going?? it's not to late to change. :)

hope you are having a terrific thursday!!

happiness in hoops!

sorry for such a late post, but i just had to share!! :) today i received my scrappy hoop from the oh so sweet, colette!! it is the one i was really hoping for!! it is even cuter in person too!! i absolutely adore it!! she used a design called "february" from sarah jane!! i've always loved sarah janes illustrations, so am thrilled to have a scrappy hoop made from one. i also read on soule mama that she'll be having a fabric line available this spring through michael miller!! oh, i can't wait!! :)

i also added the finishing touch to my hoop, that is now ready to go in the mail to my partner! i sure hope you like it!!

Hope you have a fabulous week-end!!

rainy day friends!!

well, i couldn't resist!! i had to add a little friend for sweet mary jane!! it just isn't as fun to be out in the rain all by your lonesome self. and whats better than a sweet white bunny to keep her company that also LOVES mushroom umbrellas!! they are quite the cute little pair, i have to say!! :)

i'm thinking of adding a puddle under the bunnies feet since she has boots on. what do you think? leave it, or add a puddle?

ps. for shop news, i just opened shop this afternoon!! so glad to be up and running again, and in a new studio with lots more space!!

a fairytale halloween!

this halloween was such a fun one for me as i had done quite the pre-planning. i have felt a little in a rush with my kiddos growing so fast to get in some of those custie ideas that have been in my head. this year i did a fairytale theme, little red riding hood and a little wolfie, and the wizard of oz. with six kiddos i had options. :)

we enjoyed a school hay day, and an ice skating party during the week, that they actually won the contest!! that was fun, as we'd never done a contest before. then on sunday we spent some time with family and of course did a little trick or treating.
